Digital Marketing Manager

We are looking for a creative, driven and experienced Digital Marketing Manager to help us build our digital profile, reach new audiences and raise the profile of brain injury as a cause.
We are looking to recruit someone to join our team to play a key role in our development. You will be developing engaging online content for a range of audiences, developing and maintaining our new website, growing our social media channels and looking for new ways to ensure we can make an impact digitally.
We are looking for someone who can really take charge of our digital channels, aligning them with our new brand, and helping us to innovate and increase our impact
You will be a key member of the Marketing and Communications team, and will be empowered to share your ideas and to bring them to fruition.
You will be passionate about digital communications and the impact it can have on raising awareness, making change happen and improving lives – and will want to use your skills to really make a difference.
Brainkind is a charity that aims to improve the lives of people with brain injuries in the UK. Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support people to regain the skills they have lost. We treat people with a range of brain injuries sustained through trauma, illness, substance abuse and more – to recover and meet their personal goals. MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- Develop a Digital Marketing Strategy for the organisation, helping us build brand awareness and reach key audiences using owned, earned and bought channels including email, social media, website, display advertising and PPC.
Website
- Lead a new phase of website development, following the launch of our new website in Autumn 2023.This will include reviewing user journeys, creating content, liaising with our web agency and ensuring the website is clear and accessible.
- Manage the day-to-day running of the website, including writing content, ensuring content is reviewed regularly and overseeing functionality.
- Future-scoping for further evolutions of our site; adding additional functionality, integrating with other platforms and receiving personal data.
- Manage the compliance of the site ensuring that it remains at a high standard of accessibility, is a secure environment and GDPR compliant.
- Manage relationship with our external web agency, ensuring that they are working to provide the best possible support.
- Develop an SEO plan for the website.
Social media
- Grow our social media activity to develop real conversations around brain injury
- Manage our reputation and brand via social media channels.
- Oversee our social media and online content planning processes.
- Develop processes and policies to ensure we can respond quickly to social media comments.
- Build a system to effectively plan and schedule social media posts using an agreed and coordinated comms plan.
- Lead paid social media campaigns.
- Develop a programme of local engagement to encourage regional teams to develop relationships and fundraising opportunities.
Online Content
- Lead the development of engaging content across online platforms, for a variety of audiences.
- Design assets using Canva and Adobe CC Suite.
- Support our programme of e-newsletters, ensuring we are communicating effectively with key audiences.
- Work with our internal communications team to ensure we are maximising opportunities to reach staff through digital communications.
- Suggest innovative ways the Brainkind brand can be executed across all platforms and ensure consistent application across all collateral and channels.
- Produce compelling video content, including working with members of staff, people we support and external stakeholders.
- Manage our digital photography, ensuring it is fit for purpose across all channels.
Reporting
- Develop a programme of reporting to ensure we are measuring success and improving our practice, using Google Analytics and other programmes.
Other
- Brief and manage agencies in a clear and cohesive way.
- Help to develop online fundraising campaigns, working closely with our Fundraising team
- Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications team on other projects, as required.
- Undertake, any reasonable travelling requirements, to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role.
Personal Development, Supervision and Training
- Keep updated and informed of the best creative content, thought-leadership and brand and marketing approaches
- Participate in regular support and supervision from line management
- Continuously develop professional knowledge and expertise, attending and participating in learning and development events, meetings, conferences, and events (as requested/approved by line management) to ensure up to date knowledge relevant to the role
- Attend and participate in regular team and other meetings, both internal and external

About you
- Relevant ’A’ level or University level Education.
- Knowledge and understanding of website content management systems and online databases.
- Understanding of Search Engine Optimisation tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of digital and social media channels including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
- Proven experience developing and implementing digital strategies.
- Proven experience delivering pay per click or similar online advertising activity.
- Experience of creating, uploading and managing HTML web pages and web content including text and media (photographs, graphics, video footage)
- Ability to build positive and supportive relationships with internal colleagues and customers.
- The ability to travel to locations throughout the UK.
